HOW TO REACH
BY TRAIN –Best train option from Mumbai
- Board the Matsyagandha Express – 12619 from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Mumbai at 3:20 PM and reach Madgaon junction at 1:25 AM
- Board Vasco Da Gama – Kulem Passenger 56962 at 8:14 AM and reach Kulem at 9:05 AM and start your trek.
Best train option from pune –
- There are two trekking options for Pune people. You can trek from Castle Rock and Kulem both. Catch the Goa Express 12780 from Pune at 4:20 PM and reach Castle Rock at 3:05 AM.
- If you want to trek from Kulem, then continue your journey by the same train and reach Kulem at 4:35 AM.
Best train option from Bangalore –
- Catch the Chennai Central – Vasco Da Gama Express 17311 from Yesvantpur Junction at 9:35 PM and reach Castle Rock at 9:25 AM.
- If you want to trek from Kulem then continue your journey by the same train and reach Kulem at 11:04 AM.
BY ROAD – From Kolem, visitors have the option to hop on a shared jeep, costing approximately INR 500 per person for a group of seven. The 45-minute jeep ride goes through a rugged yet scenic jungle trail. Following this ride, a 10-minute trek over the rocky terrain leads to the majestic Dudhsagar Falls.
Only 300 jeeps are allowed to enter the area each day to ensure the preservation of the environment. This occasionally leads to extended wait times and queues for getting tickets.
BY AIR – Goa International Airport, also known as Dabolim Airport, is where you need to land before hiring a cab to reach the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. You will be covering a distance of about 60 km to reach the sanctuary.
