Discover the Wonderful Hidden Gems Near Bangalore

Bangalore is known as the Garden City as it is known for its cool climate with less fluctuations in the weather. Also famous for the tech where the biggest mnc company main branch is present in Bangalore. On the other hand, it is also known for its pollution, traffic and many more so if you have a great time, Bangalore is one of the best places. 

This is the part 2 of the places around Bangalore if you miss part one check out here 

1.KAIGAL FALLS  

Kaigal falls is located in theChittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. It is around 122 kms from Bangalore . Kaigal falls comes near the Kaigal village which is on the Kuppam Palamaner highway . This is a beautiful place surrounded by rocks and thick green forest . It is around 2.5 kms from the Kaigal village. From the parking lot we need to walk around 800 mts to see the beautiful waterfalls . The speciality of the waterfall is the Shiva linga on which water falls on it .

Note : if the water force is heavy you can’t see the Shiva linga . Surrounding the waterfall there are no hotels or any major shops so plan accordingly. 

2 . DEVARAYANADURGA HILLS 

Devarayanadurga which translates in English as ‘the fort of God ‘ located in the Tumkur district of Karnataka. A peaceful place with a lake of beautiful greenery and two old temples  is the best place for your weekend getaway. You need to climb around 200 steps to reach the hilltop. Devrayanga Durga hills is around 73 kms from Bangalore . So if you are planning for a very short one day relaxing trip then don’t miss this place. 

Note : DevarayanaDurga hills has many monkeys so be aware of it

3.KAIWARA 

Kaiwara is a small town in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state . It is around 65 kms from Bangalore. If you are mythological enthusiastic and even for trekkers then don’t try to miss this place. Kaiwara is known for the great poet Sri Yogi Kaiwara Narayana Thataiyya . Here there are many temples you need to visit which have a lot of mythological history . If you want to travel it is slightly challenging so be prepared for it .

  1. KAILASAGIRI 

Kailasagiri is a place near Chintamani town which is in Chintamani taluk of Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state . It is around 9 kms from the place of Kaiwara . So this place is around 73 kms from Bangalore . The mythological history of this place says that the Pandavas from Mahabharata are believed to have lived here during their exile . From the parking lot you need to trek for a small distance where you have decent steps to reach for the top . This is a man made cave, the best place recommended for relaxation . Inside this cave there are shiva and durga devi which are daily worshiped by the people who visit here . Inside this cave it’s so cool so don’t miss it . Even from outside the Kailasagiri hill is an amazing view which is definitely an eye feast for you. 

TIMINGS : 10:30 AM TO 5:00PM 

NOTE : There are no major shops so please take your water bottles and packed snacks and be aware of the plenty of monkeys . Honest requests from my side don’t litter the place . Be a responsible traveler . 

         

  1. TK FALLS [ THOTTIKALLU FALLS ] 

TK falls is a scenic and adventurous destination near Bangalore . TK falls is near Kaggalipura which is on the Kanakapura main road from Bangalore. It is around 35 kms from Bangalore which is one of the nearest and best places near Bangalore . This is a seasonal waterfall which means that you can see the beauty of the waterfall in the monsoon season and somewhat better in the post monsoon season . This is a little off road place you need to visit and big rocks and surrounding big trees . This is not a safe place to chill, just see and enjoy nature , because as we have heard some bad incidents due to the irresponsibleness of the people . So my sincere request don’t replicate them . Again mentoning please be a responsible traveler and don’t be a bad example to anyone .  And to be noted please check prior and is it open and plan to visit the place .   

 

  1. THE ART OF LIVING 

The art of living is a volunteer based educational and a non governmental organization. It was founded by Ravi Shankar . It’s a good place for both spiritual, mental and physical wellness . It’s around 27 kms from Bangalore.

The ashram provides the facility of a Bus tour that can take you around the entire campus for sightseeing . This visit is a fixed time which you need to register at the register desk. This is a place for not everyone so as your preferences you can think of visiting this place .

BUS TOUR TIMINGS : 11:00 AM TO 12:00PM 

                                              2:00 PM TO 3:00 PM

7.CHUNCHI FALLS 

Chunchi falls is on the way from Bangalore to Mekedatu and Sangam which is around 89 kms from Bangalore . It is in Madarahalli . Chunchi falls is an almost 50 ft high cascade of falls formed by the Arkavathi river named after the tribal couple chuncha and chunchi . The waterfall is between the rocks and to reach the waterfall also you need to walk between the rocks to reach the mesmerizing waterfalls and to note here you need to walk for a half kilometer where there are no trees on the way for shade but you have beautiful small tiny shops and no restaurants . As you reach the waterfall you have an amazing view you can even go down to enjoy in water like a small pool . Again to note here this is a seasonal waterfall which is best to be visited in monsoon and the post monsoon . 

NOTE : My sincere request from my side is that alcohol is not allowed here so please don’t spoil nature . 

   

  1. SANGAM

Sangam is around 93 kms from Bangalore which is in Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagara district. Sangam in the local language kannada is known as ‘meeting point’ . This is the place where river kaveri and river Arkavathi meet . Here you get breathtaking mesmerizing views surrounded by the forest full of greenery , here you get small boats where you can enjoy the water .It is one of the best places to visit with your family and friends . Here the entry is maintained by the karnataka forest department where they would charge you 10 rs per person . Localalates had kept small shops here where they provide you the best of authentic local foods and my personal recommendation to try the fishes which are catched there only and cooked fry which is so amazing .

  1. MEKEDATU 

Mekedatu is around 5 kms from Sangam . Mekedatu in the local language Kannada is known as ‘ Goat’s leap’ where there is a saying that a Goat which was chased by the Tiger attempted to save life it jumped the rocks between which the river was flowing but the tiger didn’t attempt to jump .  

After crossing Mekedatu by the small boat then from there you get local buses where they would charge you around 80 rs for up and down . From there you walk down on the rocks for a small distance to experience the eye feast .  

NOTE : As per  recent news this place may be developed into a dam for the needy people so the beauty of Mekedatu would be disturbed so better try to visit before the changes are made . 

   

  1. NELLIGUDDE KERE 

Nelligudde kere is one of the most underrated places near Bangalore . It is around 35 kms from Bangalore . It is around 2 kms from the Bidadi center next to Mysore-Bangalore express highway . This is the best sunset to see near Bangalore . One side road and on the other side spectacular view of lake behind the lake beautiful trees are which gives a mesmerizing view .   

NOTE : There are no shops or anything near .

                  I recommend you to try the famous Bidadi Thatte idli . 

               Don’t litter the place as already it is dirty due to some spiritual   

                         events so you don’t be one of the reasons for it .    

  1. MULBAGAL 

Mulbagal is also known as Mudalabaagilu which means in the local language Kannada the entry door because Mulbagal is the first place to get sunrise in Karnataka . In Mulbagal to enjoy for a weekend getaway is a perfect place as it is a place for all type of people like spiritual lovers as many temples which are historically famous , for trekking lovers small easy basic treks are available , for food lovers MULBAGAL DOSA which is one of the most famous in recent years a must try . complete details of Mulbagal would come soon so stay connected
